Hiru Kariyawasam is from Sri Lanka, where she lives with her family in a town called Ambalangoda. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design from Moratuwa one of Sri Lanka's leading Universities. She enjoys doing illustrations for children's books in her unique style, using watercolour techniques.    

Heather is available upon request for classroom visits and any library. One of her first things she does when moving to a new place is check out the local library and secure new library cards for herself and two kids.
